Today we’re going to talk about how we make a proper rotation on our back swing. What’s important is that we start in a real good solid posture so my lower body has the ability to support the rotation of my upper body. My upper body is going to rotate across my lower body so I have the ability to load my thigh.
One great way to do this is to use a drill with a chair. If I take a chair, a desk or a table, I take my right leg and put it underneath that chair and get into a proper position. That allows me to take my chest and left shoulder and rotate across my lower body to where I have support in my right leg and can feel good coiled.
From there, that chair helps me understand how to keep my weight on the inside of my right foot as I load that back swing. That gives me the ability to load my body, so now I’m in position to go forward. This should help you in your ability to create more power, more stability and more consistency in your golf swing. I hope this helps you with your game.

Today we’re going to talk about how to make a proper swing plane to help you deal with any time that the club gets too upright and goes across the line. Sometimes a player, when they make their back swing, battles the club getting too verticle and having it go across the line, or across their head on top of the back swing. One good tool to help you work on this, is from good proper posture. When you make your turn, you should have the ability to feel like the shaft of the club is at a 45 degree angle.
A nice drill to help you with this is called a “split grip drill”. If I take my bottom hand and hold it at the top of the club, I take my top hand and split my grip. As I set up holding my club about knee high off the ground, I make a back swing from there. What that’ll help teach me to do, is how my right arm is suppose to fold properly underneath the club, so the club can be flatter and a little more down the line at the top of the back swing. After I’ve done it with the drill it’s good to go back to my regular grip and feel the same position at the top. This should help you in your ability to keep the club more on plane and help you with your game.
