Getting hot and sweaty might be great for your body, but it’s not always a good thing for your skin and can lead to breakout, rashes and all sorts of other issues. If you’re an active sole, but don’t want to compromise the quality of your skin, you might like to consider these sports.

Surfing. If you suffer from bad skin, surfing probably isn’t the first thing you would think about doing, but actually it can really help. The fresh sea air acts to cleanse pores of many chemicals and toxins that are found in town environments. Additionally, salt water and sand are excellent exfoliators of the skin and leave it both soft and buffed. Who needs a spa day when you have the ocean to look after you?

Golf. As many experts agree, high levels of stress can play havoc with the condition of people’s skin. When you feel anxious or stressed, the body produces unbalanced levels of hormones and this leads to excess oils being produced by pores. The excess oils have the result of blocking the skin pores and creating the perfect oxygen-free environment for bacteria to grow, which in turn leads to spots. Sports such as golf have been proven to combat high stress levels and the physiological side effects that come with it, and regular golf players have some of the lowest stress levels of all sports performers. So if your skin is in need of some relaxation from all those intensive beauty products, your local golf course is the place to go.

Skiing. In moderate amounts, the sun’s rays can have some amazing healing effects of the skin. It is even prescribed by some doctors to help with conditions such as acne and eczema. However, it is difficult to get the benefit of the sun without the heat and sweatiness that comes with it, and this causes other problems. Winter sports are one way to get some exposure to the sun’s rays without getting all hot and sweaty and blocking the pores with the oils you’re trying to avoid.
