A lot of people don’t play golf because they have never played before and don’t think that they would like the game or that they would be good at it. That is one of the things that I like about golf; you don’t have to be a scratch golfer to enjoy the game. If you are looking for a hobby that is good for your general well being then you should try it. Golf is a great sport for nearly everyone. The benefits of the game include exercise while enjoying the outdoors, fun and challenges for every age, and it is a game that all sorts of people play.

You can get great exercise from playing golf. All doctors agree that walking is a low stress exercise for your body. Instead of riding in a golf cart, walk the course! Eighteen holes of walking is an excellent way to work out and feel great. The stretching and moving that is involved is a way to help keep your body limber and strong. Doing something good for your body while having fun outdoors is a great way to enjoy an afternoon.

Another great thing about the game of golf is that you can play golf at any age. Golf is a sport that can be mastered by players of any age. Many teens are beginning to play golf on their high school’s team and are discovering an unknown talent. Because golf is a low impact sport, it is also an excellent game for an older person to play. Picking up the game of golf is easy and fun and is a game that if begun at a young age, can be continued throughout your entire life.

Golf is loved all over the world and by all sorts of people. Golf is played in both wealthy and poor countries. Kids in inner cities play golf and so does Donald Trump! No matter where you find yourself, you can usually go to a golf course, find a person to play with and have an enjoyable day. The person who develops his or her golf game develops a skill that translates into both the business world and the sports world and is just plain fun. It is exciting to allow yourself to be matched up with a group for a pickup game. You might have nothing in common with the other players except golf but that’s a great place to start.

Do you think it is ok to eat fish caught at a golf course? I mean the fish are healthy.?I have heard of some people eating them out of there and they were fine. If they were bad chemicals in there that lake or pond runs into something else, don't you think there would be some law or something that prevented them from using harse chemicals? Because if it is in that water it would get into other bodies of water and it would hurt the fish. Like I said the fish are healthy looks just like fish I have caught everywhere else.

If you were to catch one, put it back. there are way to many chemicals in that body of water. some courses even put chemicals to clear the water up. not a good Idea to eat fish that came from such water.References : Living next to golf course!

If I wade in a certain type of water body and come out with a rash or itching I WILL NOT eat fish from that type of water body. Go out about knee deep in that water hazard and tell me how your legs feel tomorrow.

There's lakes here in Florida that if a nuisance alligator is taken from them the meat CANNOT be marketed. The fish look healthy, the birds look healthy, the alligators however have hit menopause before they've reached sexual maturity. The eggs that are laid that are fertile tend to have very thin shells (kinda reminiscent of DDT, doncha think?), and there are high incidences of the eggs that do manage to hatch producing deformed offspring.

Sure, go ahead and eat the fish off of golf course ponds, it'll just be more data for the experiment.References :

I don’t know that I’d try it. Golf courses use a lot of pesticides and herbicides that might not affect the fish’s appearance, yet remain in their systems, then go into yours when you eat them. Let me put it this way: I’m afraid I’m going to have to cancel our dinner date…

They are NOT healthy. In the water, if it had eaten anything dirty like plastic bags it may have died because of it and may even be rotting. So take my advice and do NOT eat it.

    Alice K is right.

Just because the Bass/Fish appear healthy does not mean they don’t have tons of mercury, fertilizer, Etc. in their system.

Golf courses use many different chemicals to keep their grounds looking nice. Run-off from rainwater concentrates these chemicals in the ponds and waters on and around the courses.

You will regret eating anything in a retention or golf course pond.

A lot of stormwater is routed to golf course ponds for storage and treatment purposes. That means that aside from fertilizers and stuff from the course, there may also be motor oil and whatever else happened to be on a road during a storm. I’ve heard other engineers say they’d rather swim in sewage than drink stormwater, so I’d think twice before eating them. However, if the pond is not a stormwater pond, and simply a water feature of the course, I doubt there would be enough chemical concentration to hurt you.

Not ok. You would think the laws around pollutants from golf courses would be tougher but alot of lawmakers would never give up their golf courses.
